035.041 Germanic languages and literatures (including translation), English as first foreign language

Educational program “English and second foreign languages and literatures (including translation)”

The purpose of the program is the training of a philologist as a harmonized and integrated into society person, who is able to implement the worldview principles of the University consciously and purposefully, solve complex (including research) problems and problems in the field of philology in a professional and innovative way and use gained knowledge adapted to the requirements of the market.

The program provides for the integrated development of foreign language communicative competence to a level that ensures the use of English in a wide range of real situations in the private, public and academic spheres, with a predominance of pragmatic, sociocultural and professional competence and the development of linguistic competence to C1 level.

Formation and development of general and professional competencies, as well as cognitive and linguistic knowledge, broad general cultural erudition, the necessary psychological qualities, literary abilities for teaching and translation activities in the field of translation.

The program provides for the acquirement of skills and competencies of a Germanist, English teacher and translator.

Teaching profile disciplines exclusively in English, using the language laboratory in the learning process, researching in the field of philology, performing the translation which involves the translation of scientific, technical, political, artistic, business texts, as well as information materials from English into Ukrainian, possibility of internship abroad.
